Of the 30 million Americans living with Diabetes today, 90 – 95% of them have type-2 Diabetes. Type-2 diabetes, defined by the body’s inability to regulate insulin levels in the pancreas, gradually develops over years of physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, and genetics. While the illness predominately effects individuals over the age of 45, there is an increasing number of adolescents and young adults developing type-2 diabetes every day. Type-2 Diabetes is typically managed by the individual alongside a collaborative care team, but what if there were health technologies that could make managing one’s health even easier? One technology that will have a lasting impact on the Diabetes community is voice activated technology.  Voice activated technology is on the cutting edge of digital health and diabetes which enables it to disrupt the current chronic disease management landscape.
